About this fish
A big fish of muddy bottoms in the Yellow Sea and south coast. It booms with its swim bladder and has long been prized in Korea as a summer stamina food.

A big, long, gray-brown fish with a big mouth and a pointed tail. Usually 50 to 100cm, sometimes over 1m.
Where it lives
Lives on muddy bottoms in the Yellow Sea and off the south coast. It's famous for booming with its swim bladder, and eats shrimp and small fish. Its large swim bladder has long been a prized ingredient.
When it bites
Summer is its season, and it has long been prized in Korea as a stamina food on the hottest days.
